Changing Your Plan

There are many reasons why you might want or need to change your Medicare Advantage plan, and we are here to help you. Whatever your reason is, talk with us, and we can guide you all the way.

As a general guide, there are four types of enrollment periods that you need to be aware of:

Initial Enrollment Period (IEP)

The Initial Enrollment Period is a 7-month window when individuals first become eligible to enroll in Medicare. They can enroll starting 3 months before their 65th birthday, the month of their birthday, and the 3 months following their birthday.

Annual Enrollment Period (AEP)

The Annual Enrollment period is a set period takes place from October 15th to December 7th. This is when your plan rolls over or individuals can select a new plan for the following year.

Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period (MA-OEP)

The Open Enrollment Period takes place from January 1st to March 31st. This period allows individuals the opportunity to change their medicare advantage plan if their current plan is not the right one for them.

Special Enrollment Periods (SEP)

There are times throughout the year when those with Medicare Advantage can change their plan if certain events in their life take place, such as moving homes or losing coverage from another plan.

Note: Some plans are 5-star rated, making it possible to change to these plans at any time, which may benefit you under some circumstances.
